Experiment 2

Deze quilt (een kleintje) is eerst aan elkaar gezet met verschillende soorten stof, daarna gedubbeld en gequilt om vervolgens te verven met Procion MX. Het is een grote verrassing hoe het er uiteindelijk uit zal gaan zien als je deze weg volgt. Spannend ook, want het zou zomaar kunnen mislukken. Dat hoort wel bij het proces. Maar met dit resultaat ben ik erg tevreden: ik vind hem mooi!

This quilt (a small one) was first patched with different types of fabric, then quilted and afterwords dyed with Procion MX. It is a big surprise how it will ultimately look like. Exciting too, because it could just fail. But that's part of the process. With this result, I am very satisfied and for me it looks beautiful!

Hieronder kun je zien hoe de top eruit zag voor quilten en verven.

Het verschil met Experiment I (oktober 2009) is dat in deze quilt kleur is toegevoegd en zwart en wit. Na het verven zie je het wit er goed uitspringen. De kleur lila moet je goed zoeken... heel goed zoeken...

The difference with Experiment I is that color and black and white pieces are used too.
After dyeing the white color pops up. You have to look very well to find some lilac color in the finished piece... very very well...
